🌍 Meet Indiana and Learn How

You Might Help Support a Dream

Welcome! I’m Indiana, the creator and crocheter behind Firefly Designs. While I pour my passion into creating unique accessories for you—and sometimes painting things too!—every single purchase here goes toward funding my biggest dream: a foreign exchange program  where I will be attending school in Europe all of next year (Aug. of 2026-2027).

This trip would mean so much to me because I could finally immerse myself in a new culture and become fluent in another language—a life goal that I have passionately worked toward for years. I can hardly wait for the opportunity to learn and grow as a person.

I’ve planned for this for so long, pushing myself to earn good grades and even graduating an entire year early to make this dream happen. While I’ve been awarded a couple of scholarships (which I'm incredibly grateful for!), they don't cover enough of the exchange program for the full year.

I play the bass drum in marching band.

My stepdad and I like going on walks and rides together (and with our whole family).

When you choose a Firefly Designs item, you are doing more than buying a unique purse, scarf, or coaster—you are personally investing in my education and helping me light the path to a life-changing adventure.

Every single bit of your support is appreciated.

✨ The Origin of Firefly Designs

Where the Magic Began

The name Firefly Designs comes from one of the most magical memories of my life.

When I was really young, I traveled to Missouri to see my amazing Grandma Dee. We went outside one evening, and something truly extraordinary happened: I saw my first fireflies. I had never seen anything like them before, and as they started lighting up the world around us—twinkling in the dark—I couldn't believe something so beautiful actually existed.

I ran around the yard, chasing and trying (unsuccessfully!) to capture those tiny lights. I just remember being filled with pure joy. Grandma Dee and my mom stood by, giggling at how excited I was. Anyway, ever since that experience, Grandma Dee has affectionately called me her "Firefly."

When it came time to name my business—a place where I want to bring joy to others—Firefly Designs seemed like the perfect name. It’s a constant reminder of wonder, family, and chasing the impossible!
